- Indications:
For the prevention and treatment of recurrent upper respiratory tract infections. - Composition:
100 ml contain 75.6 ml of Echinacea purpurea extract (1.5 – 2.5:1) as the active ingredient. - Dosage form:
Oral drops, solution. - Pharmacological data:
Echinacea products have an immunobiological effect, which includes increasing the number of white blood cells in spleen cells and stimulating the phagocytosis of human granulocytes.
The active ingredients are polyynes, ascorbic acid and isobutylamides. Caffeic acid, various of its ethers, chicory acid, as well as polysaccharides and tannins have also been isolated.
- Contraindications:
Under normal conditions, it should not be used by patients with advanced systemic diseases such as tuberculosis, leukemia, leukosis, collagenosis, multiple sclerosis, AIDS, HIV infections and other autoimmune diseases.
Dr. Theiss Echinacea Forte should not be used in case of allergy to any of the ingredients.
- Pregnancy and lactation:
Although there are no reports of harmful effects, the use of Dr. Theiss Echinacea Forte should generally be avoided during pregnancy and lactation.
Driving and using machines:
Dr. Theiss Echinacea Forte contains 22% alcohol by volume. This should be taken into account when operating machinery and when assessing the ability to drive.
