Colgate Duraphat is a toothpaste that helps prevent dental caries in adults and adolescents aged 16 and over, particularly in those at risk of multiple caries.
It contains fluoride in the form of sodium salt, and belongs to a group of medicines called caries prophylactic medicines.
Its active substance is elemental fluoride, dosed at 0.50 g (in the form of sodium fluoride: 1.10 g) per 100 g.
In fact, 1 g of toothpaste contains 5 mg of elemental fluoride, corresponding to 5000 ppm of fluoride.
Other ingredients in its formula are: liquid sorbitol (non-crystallizable), dental silica, dental silica (precipitated), macrogol 600, tetrapotassium pyrophosphate, xanthan gum, sodium benzoate (E211), sodium lauryl sulfate, mint flavor (peppermint essential oil, carvone, spearmint essential oil, menthol, anethole, lemon essential oil), sodium saccharin, brilliant blue FCF (E 133), purified water.
