Cirrus is a long-acting allergy medication. It inhibits allergic reactions and relieves symptoms of both perennial and seasonal allergic rhinitis, also known as hay fever, by reducing watery discharge and nasal congestion.
Action
This medication is intended for use when both antiallergic effects (cetirizine) and nasal congestion relief (pseudoephedrine) are desired. Pseudoephedrine constricts the blood vessels in the nasal mucosa, leading to nasal congestion. Cetirizine reduces runny nose, sneezing, and nasal itching, which often accompany a runny nose.
Dosage
Adults and children 12 years and older: 1 tablet twice daily (morning and evening), with or without meals. Tablets should be swallowed whole, without chewing, with a small amount of liquid. Cirrus is usually taken for no longer than 2-3 weeks; your doctor may recommend cetirizine alone for continued treatment.
Composition
1 tablet contains: active substances: 5mg of unmodified-release cetirizine dihydrochloride + 120mg of prolonged-release pseudoephedrine hydrochloride.
